Job Description

The candidate must have a firm knowledge about the nature of domestic violence and its impact upon society, along with an ability to work with diverse populations. The candidate must bring to the position a capability to provide crisis intervention, support, options and resources to a victim of domestic violence in legal, judicial, and community venues; provide training and outreach to community systems; and provide on-call advocacy services. The role of the legal advocate is to provide support for victims of domestic violence throughout the protection from abuse order process and to provide accompaniment in magisterial courts. In addition, the candidate must possess project management skills, be comfortable creating community contacts with police departments, train police departments and be organized.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on criminology or related field required and two years of work experience in field of domestic violence preferred.

PCADV State Approved Domestic Violence Training (Employer provided if not already completed)

Clearance Requirements:

-FBI Clearance

-Driver’s License

Crisis Line Specialist

Job Description

Status:

Non-exempt

Salary: $40,500/year

General Summary:

To function within the framework of the philosophy, mission and policies of CCN. To ensure hotline calls, text line, and chatline calls are being answered in a trauma informed fashion on a 24-hour basis, 365 days of the year, using both volunteers and on-call advocates resulting in the heightened personal safety and protection of victims of domestic abuse. Also, to enhance the overall efficiency and productivity of paid staff and volunteers within this area of responsibility.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The incumbent must have a sound knowledge of office procedures and strong computer skills. The candidate must also possess supervision and coordination skills. She/he must also have an ability to communicate the principles of victim advocacy, a commitment to the empowerment philosophy of the domestic violence movement and complete the mandated PCADV state approved domestic violence training.
